     Mellan gårdarna fanns det en så kallad vret. Ett trångt utrymme som inte var bebyggt. I Magnus Erikssons stadslag från 1357 så beskrivs det att man ska ha ett så kallat vret, ett dropprum, mellan husen, så att inte vatten från grannens tak ska rinna ner på grannens tak.

     Between the houses there was a runoff gap, a narrow space that was not built on. In Magnus Eriksson’s Town Law of 1357, it is stated that there should be such a runoff gap, a drip space, between buildings, so that water from a neighbour’s roof would not run down onto another neighbour’s roof.
