     The term TechQuity is formed by combining the words technology and equity. This concept arose from the realization that the pandemic aggravated the system marginalization of certain groups in society from access to health care services due to a lack of access to some digital tools.

     One specific and essential area where nurse informaticists will add value to achieve parctice moving into the future is embracing and operationalizing the concept of Techquity. The definition of the concept is "the strategic development and deployment of technology to advance health equity" (Rhee et al., 2021), and explicitly names social justice as the required foundation for remediating health inequities between populations that historically and currently face structural racism, and other forms of social and behavioral exploitation and dehumanizing treatment (Braveman et al., 2011).
