  1. (transitive) to retaliate equally; to avenge
    Punna niaʼ paramaradeka aʼbesereʼ na sitoboʼ nanibuno sitau nanirapiʼ ribijanna, laloi nipappuli
    If two freemen quarrel and stab each other, and one is killed, and his family arrives, then the right of equal retaliation may be applied (the perpetrator may also be killed).
    Punna niaʼ tumapongoroʼ namattunu nanibunotodong nibilangi tumaʼjalloʼ tanipappulitongangai
    If an insane person commits arson and is also killed, he is considered an amok runner and his death is truly not avenged by equal retaliation.
