hieman

hieman

Finnish

Etymology

A genitive or instructive singular form of *hiema, which could be from Proto-Finnic *hëëma-, possibly borrowed from Proto-Germanic *sēmô through earlier *šeema(n) (in which case the word is a doublet of siemen), or alternatively derived from hieta through irregular suffix substitution. However, neither of these can be considered certain.
