Compound of flamma (“flame”) + -ig (“-y”). First attested in 1745.[1]
Adjective
flammig (comparative flammigare, superlative flammigast)
- Have shifting shade or uneven colour (reminiscent of flames); blotchy, patchy.
- Väggen är alldeles flammig.
- The wall is all blotchy.
