A hypercorrection and thus a doublet of beda, from Sanskrit भेद (bheda, “contrast, distinction, difference”),[1][2] likely influenced by other words with conflation of /d/ and /ð/ (as /dz/) represented originally with the Jawi د dal and ذ dzal respectively (thus بيدا beda ⇆ بيذا bedza) , such as between dikir and zikir both doublets from Arabic ذِكْر (ḏikr, “recollection, remembrance”).
