     According to Julie Pawid, 49 yrs. old, beneficiary from Barangay Leseb, aside from receiving the cash for work assistance amounting to 2,250.00. They are much determined to continue the production as part of their commitment in the sustainability of the project.

     The Maba-ay National High School - Leseb Annex in Barangay Leseb, Municipality of Bauko, Mountain Province is hereby separated from the Maba-ay National High School and converted into an independent national high school to be known as Leseb National High School.

Folklore says that Leseb was uninhabited during the pre-Spanish time. It was just a place thickly forested with pine trees and ferns with four major creeks flowing from the east and northern part.

Due to an epidemic of bultong (“smallpox”) in the 18th century at the nearby Miligan that claimed hundreds of lives, survivors from Miligan migrated to other places. However, some moved to the nearby mountains like Nabilig, the hill above Deppas and Pangao overlooking Leseb. From then on, the people started a new life. They cultivated and domesticated pigs for a living.

One day, a couple's pregnant pig did not return home (pigs before were not confined in a pigpen). The couples stopped searching after several days of futile efforts. After a month, while the husband was looking down from Nabilig, he spotted several piglets roaming around the grassy portions at the foot of Nabilig Mountain. He hurried down to discover, to his surprise, their pig which has given birth. He then found out that their pig burrowed underground (nailseb / abot ed dalem) to give birth to its piglets. Since then, the man named the place Nailseb and later became Leseb, because the man decided to take his family from Nabilig and build a permanent dwelling near the pig's burrow. From then on, Leseb started to be populated out of this family.
