AS-level (plural AS-levels)

  1. Initialism of Advanced Subsidiary level, an examination sometimes taken in the first year of sixth form, as a first stage in completing an A-level qualification.

Usage notes

AS-levels have been mostly phased out as of September 2019. Most sixth forms now instead hold all examinations at the end of Year 13, though some continue to offer AS-level courses in other contexts.
